AG’s social vision and goals

It is important for us to find more young people who are looking to make changes in their communities. It’s also crucial for us to give students and members a concrete experience about how the labor market will be and how we can help people with special needs, in addition to helping social issues like homelessness, mental illness, and others.

The goal of our co-operation

The AG organization wants to be able to reach out to a broad segment of people with the goal of spreading awareness of the aforementioned social issues. With that in mind, its web presence needed a breath of fresh air and some new radiance.
This meant that the visual identity of their website garnered the center of attention during the development phase with Kodius’ team iterating over it to deliver the most striking presentation possible.

Stack

The technical stack used for this project was made up of the dominant React front- end library which meant the delivered project would be both easily built as well as painless to extend in the future, be it by Kodius or by someone else. We opted for  NextJS because server-side rendering felt like way to go and NextJS is the most popular way of building such a web site in React. This made the actual development a breeze and made our end-result all the more pleasant due to the wide feature-set boasted by Next JS out of the box - including SEO friendliness, great performance, prefetching, lazy loading, and a host of others.

Development phase challenges

The challenge was changing the mindset from the usual width as a limiting factor when it comes to the design, to a height (monitor/screen height) as a new limiting factor for ‘fitting’ the design into the screen. In other words, the main challenge was the lack of vertical scroll, which is standard in web development.
